Radon is a radioactive, colorless, odorless, tasteless gas from the decay of radium. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer, and is found both inside and outside your home. Radon in its natural form, uranium, can change into radium. During this transformation, the Nobel gas radon is released. It then travels out of the earth and gets trapped in our homes and buildings. At this point, the radon goes through another transformation- it breaks down into a solid radioactive element called radon decay.
