Concrete is a very porous material that allows moisture to pass through and left untreated, can cause mold to grow. Contacting MidAmerica Basement Systems can properly address the issue with installing an effective system to create a vapor barrier between the wall and basement. CleanSpace is a thick liner that is placed along the walls, stopping moisture from entering the basement, and directing it to a WaterGuard system. WaterGuard will than direct the moisture and water to a sump pump where it will be properly discharged from the home, leaving the basement dry.

Recently, homeowners in Evansdale, IA, faced a worrying problem - the walls in their basement were visibly bowing and cracking. To add to their woes, leaking water was making its unwelcome presence felt, creating a deteriorating situation calling for immediate attention. Understanding the severity, they reached out to us at MidAmerica Basement Systems, hoping for a sustainable solution to their home’s dire situation. After an initial contact, our customer care team promptly arranged for a home inspection. One of our experienced System Design Specialists visited the home, offering a comprehensive evaluation. The diagnosis was clear: the structural integrity of the basement walls was compromised, and water intrusion was exacerbating the issue. The recommended solution? The installation of GeoLock Wall Anchors - a reliable fix designed to address and correct both the bowing walls and the troublesome leaks. Our production team, including a skilled foreman and expert installers, got to work, executing the installation with precision. The GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed strategically along the compromised walls to counteract the inward pressure causing the bowing. Not only did this stabilize the walls, preventing further movement, but it also provided a means to gradually straighten the walls over time with minimal disruption to the household. By the end of our work, the homeowner’s basement was transformed. The once-bowing and cracking walls were stabilized, significantly reducing the risk of future water leakage and structural issues. Homeowners Jim and Kitty have lived in their new home for the last two months. When they moved in they knew that they wanted to have the driveway fixed. MidAmerica Basement Systems used Polyurethane foam and is injected under the concrete. After the foam is injected it fills the void as it expands and hardens. As the foam hardens the concrete lifts and levels.
During rainfalls, Frank was having issues with water pooling and puddling around his garage’s foundation and along the sidewalk to the front door. Large gaps were also becoming apart due to washouts from the pooling water, causing the concrete to sink even more. He reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have his issue addressed. He was offered PolyLevel and NexusPro Joint Sealant to resolved his issue. PolyLevel was injected under the concrete to fill the voids that had been caused by washouts. This lifted and leveled the slabs, and helped reduce the large gaps between each section, to prevent pooling and puddling next to the foundation. NexusPro Joint Sealant was than applied to all the cracks to divert future water away from the ground that was still present under the concrete, providing a longer-lasting solution for leveled slabs.
