Basement Finishing & Remodeling in Vinton, IA

Waterproofing your basement prevents outside water from coming in, but what if a pipe bursts or the water heater leaks inside the home? A newly finished basement done by your average contractor will mold and rot if there is an internal leak. You'll have to tear out your new basement! We fix this issue.

Our Products Include :
  • Waterproof, washable, insulated walls
  • Mold-Resistant, No-Sag suspended ceiling
  • Modular carpet, tile & faux wood flooring

  • Energy-efficient, double-paned basement windows
  • Attractive Sunhouse basement window wells
  • French, bifold, louvre & six-paneled steel doors
Unlike the average Vinton contractor, we use completely inorganic, waterproof materials. Even if the basement floods, your walls and floors will not be damaged by the water. These waterproof products are patented and are built to create an attractive finished basement that lasts a lifetime.

Power Outages Causes Sump to Fail in Vinton, IA

During a large storm, Dorla’s power went out, causing her sump pump to stop running, and basement to flood. After the power came back on, she was still having issues with water seeping in the foundation, leaving the basement wet still. She contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her issues addressed. She was offered WaterGuard to collect the seeping foundation water, redirecting it to the sump pump to be discharged. An UltraSump was also offered, providing her with the security of a functioning pump during power outages. The UltraSump is a battery backup pump that can run for hours on one single charge. Now Dorla can relax during storms that produce power outages.

I am interested in having an 'inspection' if you even do that. I am concerned that groundwater might be wicking through the concrete and coming into the basement and causing some health problems. I don't have any leaks or anything, but the concrete might be darker than I remember. Maybe things are fine, that would be great.

A small section of the cement walkway in front of our house is sinking. I haven't measured it yet, but I'd assume it to be approximately 10 foot long. It's been sinking over the years and needs to be raised about 1" to 2" to meet the other cement walkways. There are no cracks in the cement. It's simply a section that was poured separately and due in part to our sandy soil and how water runs off when it rains, has slowly been sinking. I"ve lived in the house 34 years and it's taken that long to sink the 1-2" that it has.
