Restoring Curb Appeal: Parking Area Concrete Leveling in Epworth, IA

In Epworth, IA, a homeowner faced an uneven and unsightly concrete parking area that limited usability and lowered the property's curb appeal. Water pooling and soil settlement had caused the heavy concrete slabs to sink, creating dangerous tripping hazards and an unstable surface. System Design Specialist Shawn Conaway inspected the site and designed a complete stabilization plan. To execute the restoration, Foreman Ricky Sigala and crew member Jaylen stepped in to bring the parking area back to a flush, stable finish.

The team began by drilling small, non-destructive injection ports into the settled slabs. Ricky and Jaylen then injected the advanced PolyLevel® polyurethane foam beneath the concrete. As the liquid foam expanded, it filled the underground voids, consolidated the loose soil, and gently lifted the heavy slabs back to an even plane. To protect the newly leveled parking area from future erosion, the crew sealed all open cracks and joints with NexusPro® Joint Sealant, which keeps water from seeping back under the concrete. Thanks to the expert work of MidAmerica Basement Systems, the homeowner now has a durable, seamless, and safe parking area that instantly enhances their property's value.

Large Sunken Slab is Lifted with PolyLevel in Cameron, IL

Gary was having issues with his sidewalk sinking and exposing the from underneath his front porch. It was very frustrating trying to sell his home with a very ugly entrance to the home. He reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have the sidewalk lifted and leveled once again. PolyLevel was injected under the concrete and properly lifted the sunken slab, stabilizing the area. Once the area was lifted, the from for the porch was no longer visible, making the entrance to Gary’s home appealing once again.

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Cameron, IL

A dirt crawlspace can cause problems for homeowners, like drafts and moisture. This was the case for a homeowner in Cameron, Illinois. They knew they needed to make a change to improve their crawlspace.

We were able to help by encapsulating the crawlspace using CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, SmartDrain, and vent covers. This will not only fix the existing problems, but also provide benefits like lower energy bills and improved air quality.

Here's a breakdown of the changes made:

  • CleanSpace: This is a durable vapor barrier that lines the walls and floor of the crawlspace, preventing moisture from entering.
  • Drainage Matting: This is placed on the floor of the crawlspace to collect any water that enters and channel it to the drain.
  • SmartDrain: This is a drainage system that collects and removes water from the crawlspace, preventing mold and mildew growth.
  • Vent covers: These are installed on the vents in the crawlspace to prevent outside air from entering and contributing to moisture problems.

By making these improvements, the homeowner can expect a more comfortable and healthy living environment, as well as potentially lower energy costs.

Milan, IL Crawlspace Stabilization and Encapsulation

Mary of Milan called MidAmerica Basement Systems because the floors above her crawlspace were starting to sink and and sag, and her crawlspace was damp. She met with design specialist Mike Banks who talked to her about stabilizing the crawlspace with Smart Jacks and encapsulating the space with CleanSpace. Now the crawlspace is dry and stable.
