MidAmerica Basement Systems donated food and food supplies to Kings Harvest Ministries in the Quad Cities.
Kings Harvest Ministries, located in Davenport, IA, services people experiencing poverty and homelessness in the Quad Cities. The ministry participates in housing, feeding, and providing assistance to those in need. Kings Harvest Ministries also helps the community through a hygiene product giveaway, a food bank, housing and shelter, and even a pet program and shelter.
Every week, the Kings Harvest Ministries feeds over 500 people hot meals. Wednesday and Friday, hot lunches are provided, and Saturday morning, a hot breakfast is served. Mid America Basement Systems donated plates, plasticware, cups, and napkins to Kings Harvest Ministries. They also donated food items like pasta and pasta sauce, vegetables, and canned fruit. After spending time talking with the Kings Harvest Staff, MidAmerica Basement Systems owner, Howard Tatge, commented that the Kings Harvest Ministries does a lot here.
The Kings Harvest Ministries does in fact do a lot to support poverty stricken and homeless individuals in the Quad Cities. In addition to feeding over 500 people weekly, Kings Harvest Ministries also has a year-round shelter that sleeps roughly 20 people. They have 10 semi-permanent residents who live at the shelter short term while getting back on their feet. In the winter, a temporary shelter for roughly 60 people opens to protect the homeless from the dangerous elements.
MidAmerica Basement Systems owner, Howard Tatge, expressed that he was happy the company was able to help Kings Harvest Ministries, especially during the cold months where no one should go without a hot meal.
MidAmerica Basement Systems, the local experts in all things basementy, has three offices in Davenport, Peoria and Cedar Rapids.
