Mobile Food Pantry

On November 17, 2012 MidAmerica Basement Systems, donated their time to the Mobile Food Pantry. 

The Mobile Food Pantry is affiliated with RiverBend FoodBank, which helps people about once or twice a month with distributing food.  

History of the River Bend Foodbank

Established in 1982, the River Bend Foodbank was put in place after the farm implement crisis. Tens of thousands of high paying jobs were lost in the Quad City area and the demand was extremely high for assistance from food pantries and other relief organizations. In the River Bend Foodbank's first year, 190,000 pounds of food was collected, stored and distributed to food pantries and other non profit agencies with feeding programs.

This year, MidAmerica Basement Systems helped distribute canned goods, cereal and bread to a little over 100 people on the organization's distributing food truck. It was a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday!
