Having an uneven, cracked, concrete surface is not only a danger to you but also your friends and family that come over to your home. There is a way to fix your concrete that does not involve days of work and or heavy machines. The answer is PolyLevel and this homeowner in Rock Island, IL just had their concrete fixed with PolyLevel with MidAmerica Basement Systems!
PolyLevel is the answer to fix your uneven, sinking sidewalk. It has the same idea as mud-jacking but does not involve jack-hammering or using any mud, instead, it uses lightweight foam. A dime-size hole is drilled within the slab and the PolyLevel is then injected into the slab where the void was created. A void is where the fill soil was poorly compacted creating the slab to become uneven or sink. The PolyLevel is then injected through the hole. It compresses the soil beneath as it lifts, creating a stable base. It raises the concrete in a controlled way. The holes are then sealed off and in about fifteen minutes the concrete is once again usable!
The concrete is once again stable with no more uneven surfaces thanks to Brandon and the MidAmerica Basement Systems Team. If you too are looking to have your concrete slab lifted and leveled, or looking to have your concrete cracks filled, do not hesitate to reach out to MidAmerica Basement Systems. Sump pumps help keep water from collecting in your basement, but are only effective when water reaches the pit. Water can still seep in through foundation cracks in the floor and walls, surfacing and causing water damage. Installing WaterGuard to increase the effectiveness of your current sump system can put your mind at ease. WaterGuard is a patented drain system that is installed around the perimeter of the basement foundation, to collect water that seeps in from under the floor and off the walls. The special flanges found on the WaterGuard allow for water to collect from seeping walls, without allowing extra debris to enter and clog the drain system. Once water is collected in the WaterGuard, it is then transported to your sump pit to be properly discharged, preventing and keeping water from surfacing in the basement.

The talented comedy troupe that performs in the same building as this older basement in Rock Island had concerns about the general condition of the space so the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems were called. The space needed a proper sump pump so the team installed the patented SuperSump. The SuperSump comes with a cast iron zoeller pump making it more reliable than other sump pumps. The air tight lid also keeps the SuperSump debris free as it also prevents water vapor from rising out of the sump. SuperSump also comes with the WaterWatch designed to sound off when water is rising in the system, which could be the sign of a potential flood or other problem.
The team installed the perimeter drainage system, WaterGuard, to direct wall leaks to the SuperSump and off the foundation floor. Rock Island home-owners, Pat and Joe D., called on MidAmerica Basement Systems experts in 2010. Since then they have continued to call on the MidAmerica team for all of their basement needs.
