Danny has always had a sump pump in his basement, but during long, heavy rains falls, he would still get water in the area. He thought maybe it was time for a new sump pump and called MidAmerica Basement Systems. During evaluation, it was noted that his existing pump worked properly, and advised him to have WaterGuard installed. This will prevent water from seeping in from the floors, and will help redirect it properly to the sump pump. WaterGuard is a drainage system that helps collect and redirect water, preventing it from surfacing on the floor. Danny no longer worries of water seeping through during heavy rains.

Tom and Sonja were noticing some uneven areas on their driveway and sidewalk, making it dangerous for them and their guests to walk. They called MidAmerica Basement Systems to have their concrete lifted and leveled. During their evaluation, they were introduced to the new PolyLevel solution. PolyLevel uses a lightweight foam that stabilizes sunken slabs by filling the voids, adhering to the soil, and lifting the concrete back to its desired state. Because the material adheres to the ground, it provides a longer lasting solution than typical mudjacking. Now Tom and Sonja have a leveled driveway and sidewalk once again.

Kathy lives in a home that was built in the late 1800’s, and over the years, the floors of the home have begun to slowly sag. Finally, she reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her situation handled. Mike looked at her issue and proposed her a SmartJack system. SmartJacks are galvanized steel columns that have a load compacity of more than 60,000 pounds making them ideal for stabilizing a home’s sagging floor. The concrete floor is dug up and filled with tightly-compacted crushed stone to provide the proper weight barring exertion needed for each column. Once the holes are filled, the SmartJacks are installed and cemented down to the floor and connected to the girder system. Each SmartJack is tightened to permanently stabilize the floor, and even potentially lift the floors back to level.

Homeowners Katherine and Cory have lived in their home for the last few years. They were concerned that about the air quality of their home and decided to conduct a radon test. After receiving results that were not the ideal they decided to have a radon mitigation system installed. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the united states and occurs naturally.
Homeowner Bill was recently contacted by MidAmerica Basement Systems when it was time for the annual maintenance of his system. Upon arrival service tech KyleMcCarty noticed that the sump pump was full of rocks. The system was still functioning however with the removal of the rocks the system will run much smoother and will be less likely to have a block in the system causing failure.
Kathy was concerned about the large dip in her floors of her home. Over the years the floors became worse and worse, posing threat to her home. She reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems for help to hopefully stabilize her floors. During her inspection, she was offered a SmartJack system. SmartJacks are galvanized steel columns with the ability to lift structure loads of more than 60,000 pounds. Once the SmartJacks are installed, the floors are permanently stabilized, preventing any worsening sagging. SmartJacks also give the opportunity to lift the floors back to their level state. Kathy no longer worries of her floors worsening, and has even seen improvement in a more level floor.
Bill was noticing a slight shift in his block foundation that was allowing water to seep in through the walls. He contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have his issue resolved. The shifting that had appeared was due to a bowing wall issue, which was then leading to the seeping water. It was suggested that a PowerBrace system be installed to address the bowing wall. PowerBraces are an I-Beam system that allows for the beams to be tightened, permanently stabilizing the wall and potentially straightening it. To address the leaking wall, CleanSpace Liner was placed along the wall, and WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement. Both systems work together to keep water from surfacing, and redirecting it to the TripleSafe sump. There, water will properly be discharged from the home, leaving Bill’s basement stable and dry once again.
