Mudjacking Vs Polylevel

Mudjacking Vs Polylevel

PolyLevel® Concrete Lifting Has Many Advantages Over Mudjacking

Mudjacking used to be the only method of lifting and leveling concrete slabs. It is now obsolete technology and is seen as an outdated method to lift concrete. Mudjacking requires a hole the size of a soda can to be drilled through the concrete, and while hydraulic equipment lifts the slab, mud is pumped under the slab. After several days of letting the mud cure, the weight of the slab and the traffic are constantly pushing down on the mud.

Mudjacking is not a permanent solution because the mud and soil underneath the slab is what was washed out and caused the slab to sink in the first place. While mudjacking can create a temporary solution, it does not last long-term. It doesn’t make much sense to pump more dirt and water back under that slab to achieve a long-term solution. This process typically needs to be repeated every couple of years to keep it working.

PolyLevel® has changed all of that! When PolyLevel is installed, a hole smaller than a penny is created in the slab. The two-part polyurethane foam is pumped under the slab to fill the voids in the soil. As it fills, it conditions the soil underneath, penetrating any smaller voids and creating tiny fingers that grab on to the soils as it expands and quickly solidifies.

PolyLevel® is a completely waterproof solution that is much more effective than mudjacking. As a bonus, you can use your driveway, sidewalk, or patio within 15-20 minutes after PolyLevel® has been installed! Mudjacking requires a much longer curing time and can create a hassle for you and your family.
