How PolyLevel® Works
The reason concrete sinks is because of the soil underneath the slab. Water can cause the soil to washout and create voids, making the soil no longer supportive to the weight of the slab. The concrete the sinks into the ground and creates an uneven, dangerous tripping hazard above.
Our concrete experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems use PolyLevel® to lift sunken slabs. Our experts drill a small, dime-sized hole into the sunken slab and inject the PolyLevel® foam into the voids underneath the slab. The foam instantly expands and lifts the slab back into place for a safe, even surface above.
Small 5/8” holes are strategically drilled in the slab.
Injection ports are installed.
Polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slab.
Holes and control joints are sealed.

Traditional Concrete Lifting vs PolyLevel®
There are a few traditional methods for lifting and leveling concrete that many companies still use today.
Mudjacking is a very popular method for lifting concrete, but comes with downfalls. A mix of mud and slurry is used to compact the soil beneath the concrete and lift it back up. The problem is that the slurry can easily washout over time and cause the concrete to sink again.
Slab replacement is also option, but it does not address the actual problem. Replacing a slab is expensive, disruptive, and has a long curing time. The new slab will simply add weight to the unsupportive soil and will sink again. To fix the initial problem of the sinking slab, the soils must be addressed.
PolyLevel® is lightweight, waterproof, and cures quickly. It provides a permanent solution so that you no longer have to worry about sunken concrete slabs.
