Sumps of the Past
This sump pump system was not very effective in keeping this basement dry. The sump does not have a lid which will allow for an array of issues. For one, without a proper lid, the sump is susceptible to debris falling in and disrupting the system. With an airtight lid, moisture will eventually rise back into space. If a homeowner is concerned about Radon gas, having an open sump pump may act as the perfect entryway for the deadly gas to seep in.
FlowGuard Installation In Progress
Part of the perimeter in progress of having the FlowGuard installed.
FlowGuard Pictured; Installation In Progress
FlowGuard is ideal for thin floor applications. In other words, the thickness of the foundation floor dictates what drainage system can be installed around the perimeter. FlowGuard is excellent in it's design to direct water leaks away from the foundation floor and to the local sump pump.
SuperSump
SuperSump is a patented sump pumping system that puts the old system to shame. It is designed to pump water out of the space, it allows water to got down but water can not come back up, it's sealed and protected. It's equipped with WaterWatch to alert the homeowner of rising water in the system indicative of a possible flood in the space.
The Finished FlowGuard with CleanSpace
The walls are waterproofed with CleanSpace liners. CleanSpace fits along the wall and is secured into FlowGuard perimeter drainage system. These two systems work beautifully together as the CleanSpace traps water behind it , trickling the leak to the FlowGuard which then drains it to the SuperSump. Team work makes the dream work!
