Photo Album: Lifting and Stabilizing Pavilion Slab in Epworth, IA
Mike, the property manager of the Girl Scout Camp Little Cloud, was concerned about the sheltered pavilion on the campgrounds. The slab inside the pavilion has cracked and started sinking, causing large and dangerous tripping hazards. To make the area safe once again, MidAmerica Basement Systems was contacted. While design specialist, Joe, was evaluating the situation, he offered the solution PolyLevel and NexusPro.
PolyLevel is high-density polymers that are injected under the concrete to lift and stabilize the slab. Voids that have been created are filled, and then the material expands to raise the slabs to level. PolyLevel has a lifting force of 2,000 to 4,000 pounds per square foot, allowing for the shelter to be lifted with ease. To protect against any cracks from worsening over time, NexusPro Joint Sealant is applied. The flexible, tight holding bond allows for the bending and expansion that is associated with the change in weather conditions, preventing the cracks from becoming larger. The pavilion at Girl Scout Camp Little Cloud is once again safe to host events thanks to the help of PolyLevel and NexusPro from MidAmerica Basement Systems.
