Lifting and Leveling Concrete with PolyLevel in Pearl City, IA
Challenge
Susan had an issue with sunken concrete slabs. To fix the issue, the concrete was mudjacked to level the concrete, or at least she thought she was fixing the issue. After some time, the slabs had sunk again, causing the same issue as before. The weight of the mudjacking slurry had caused more weight and stress on the failed soil, producing voids once again. Susan was back to the same point she started at, and didn’t know where to turn.
Solution
Once MidAmerica Basement Systems arrived to evaluate her situation, a more permanent solution was offered. Similar to mudjacking, but offering many more advantages, PolyLevel was introduced. PolyLevel uses small, 5/8th inch holes to injected the high-density, lightweight polymers. The high-density polymers are injected to fill the void, and once filled, expand to precisely lift and stabilize the slabs. The expansion of the PolyLevel uses lifting forces up to 4,000 pounds per square foot, while only weighing 4 pounds per cubic foot. PolyLevel is also waterproof preventing the material from being washed out and will not rot or deteriorate over time. With the small holes, injection sites go unnoticed, leaving the appearance of the concrete the same.
