Damaged Basement Drywall Receives a New Look in Iowa City, IA
Challenge
Stephanie was noticed some water seeping in under the wall behind her drywall in the basement and quickly contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems. When experts arrived to inspect her situation, the small water leakage rapidly turned into a large mess. Large portions of the drywall had been effected, causing damage and unusable walls, along with large amounts of mold.
Solution
Mold X was sprayed along the affected areas, helping control the growth of future mold. CleanSpace was placed along the leaking walls. CleanSpace uses a special additive that prevents mold from growing, while acting as a moisture barrier, protecting against extended damage to the drywall that was left unharmed. WaterGuard was installed at the base of the CleanSpace, along the perimeter of the basement, to collect any water that would enter, directing it the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe sump properly discharges the water back out of the home, leaving the basement dry. EverLast Wall Panels were than installed to replace the affected drywall areas. EverLast Wall Panels provide the critical materials for a basement setting. The panels are made of inorganic materials that prevent mold and mildew growth, and provide a waterproof option, preventing future damage to the walls.
