Leaking Basement is Resolved for Clinton, IA Home

Challenge

Lois was looking to finish her basement, so recently had insulation installed. One day after work she came home to find her basement a watered mess. Water was coming in through the floor and wall joints, damaging much of the insulation that was just installed. She quickly contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her basement waterproofed before she continued any further with her basement finishing.

Solution

During inspection, it was proposed having a TripleSafe sump, WaterGuard and a SaniDry CX installed. The WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect the water that was entering the basement, preventing it from surfacing and causing any more damage, and direct it to the TripleSafe sump. Now any and all water that enters the basement will properly be discharged, keeping the floors and walls dry. A SaniDry XP was installed to keep the humidity levels down, leaving a total dry basement. It was also proposed that Basement to Beautiful Panels be installed to provide the proper insulation for the basement. Basement to Beautiful Panels offer a 24% more energy savings than regular insulation, and is a waterproof vapor barrier that will not be damaged by water or moisture. The Basement to Beautiful Panels also prepares the walls for basement finishing. With a waterproofing system in place, and the proper insulation needed for a basement setting, Lois can now finish her basement without the worry of future water damage.
