Providing a New Sump System for Home in Iowa City, IA
Challenge
Terry of Iowa City had a previous sump system installed in her home, that had failed. Due to the failure of the system, 6 inches of water had flooded across her basement. She had made a call to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her issue addressed.
Solution
During evaluation, Adao proposed installing a SuperSump to replace the old failing system. He also suggested installing the UltraSump battery backup system that allows for the pump to continue working during power outages. An UltraSump backup system can pump out 11,500 gallons on a single charge, assuring that your basement will stay dry during power outages. In the past, Terry had mentioned that during the winter months, water that was discharged from her home was causing it the ice over on her sidewalks. He suggested that the discharge line be installed under the concrete and add a LawnScape at the end of the line. Placing the discharge line under the concrete allows for water to stray away from the sidewalk, while the LawnScape allows for a flat surface, reducing visibility and tripping hazard. Thanks to Adao and MidAmerica Basement Systems, Terry now has a reliable waterproofing system that will even work during power outages, keeping her basement dry.
