Rebar Protection and Basement Waterproofing in Cedar Rapids, IA
Challenge
Every time that it rained in Cedar Rapids, IA, Stuart and Angie's basement leaked water into the interior. They had their gutters redone, but it didn't help. When the water continued to come into their basement, they took down the drywall and carpet before deciding to call the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Solution
After Stuart and Angie called MidAmeirca Basement Systems, they met with design specialist Bryan Christopherson. Bryan conducted a thorough investigation inside and outside the basement. He discovered the concrete rebar had been buried too shallow, and was starting to pop out of the foundation. Bryan recommended CarbonArmor stabilization to prevent further concrete foundation damage.
Bryan also recommended a comprehensive waterproofing system, including patented sub-floor drainage system, WaterGuard, a TripleSafe Sump Pump with the IceGuard attachment and a buried discharge line, as well as new basement windows and enclosures. He also recommended reducing humidity with a SaniDry Upright model. Stuart and Angie are also planning to have ThermalDry Tile Flooring and Basement to Beautiful panels installed as well.
Patented WaterGuard drains into the TripleSafe Sump Pump, which is comprised of three pumps. The TripleSafe has a powerful M98 and M53 pump that work together to keep water out of the basement. The third pump is a battery backup pump that kicks on in the event that the power goes out. The IceGuard attachment pieces ensure that when the water exits, it exits above snow and ice if the discharge line has frozen. The self-draining SaniDry dehumidifier keeps their whole home humidity in check.
The basement is now finally dry, and Stuart and Angie are very happy.
