Clinton, IA Completed Estate Project
Challenge
The sellers of a Clinton, IA estate realized that water was coming in through the walls of the basement. A corner of the basement was damp up and down the entirety of the wall on both sides. Water seemed to be everywhere. The sellers contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems, and met with design specialist Bryan Christopherson.
Solution
Bryan came to the home and conducted his investigation. He looked at the inside and outside of the home, and determined the best solution for the problem and the needs of the sellers. A partial perimeter WaterGuard system was installed in the problem areas. Additionally, CleanSpace Drainage Matting was installed over the footing, with CleanSpace Wall protecting the interior. The bright white material ensures that any water is directed to the sub-floor drainage system, WaterGuard.
The WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system empties into the new SuperSump Sump Pump, which drains out the buried discharge line. In the event that the discharge line may freeze, the team, led by foreman Mike Clementz, also installed IceGuard, which allows the water to pump out over the snow and ice. The basement looks great, and is finally dry.
