Waterproofing & Stabilizing Basement in Taylor Ridge, IL

Challenge

Karen V. from Taylor Ridge was referred to the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems after noticing water seeping in from the bottom of her basement wall and through the foundation floor. The team sent Design Specialist, Dan Garner, to inspect the home and provide Karen with a free quote. After a thorough inspection, Dan advised that the current condition of the foundation walls was less than desirable and the cause of a majority of the water intrusion. Thrilled at the prospect of having the basement permanently stabilized and waterproofed, Karen gave the go ahead!

Solution

The project was headed by Foreman, Bill Wilcox. Before the team waterproofed the basement, they sprayed the space with Mold X to help neutralize mold growth. The team waterproofed Karen’s basement by installing 20 mil thick CleanSpace liner to the foundation walls to drain wall leaks to the WaterGuard drainage system. WaterGuard is installed above the foundation footing as to avoid clogging and will drain wall leaks including ground water to the TripleSafe pump system. The TripleSafe is designed to keep basements dry as it comes equipped with twin liner, 1/3 hp cast iron primary AC pump, 1/2 hp cast iron AC back-up pump, UltraSump battery back-up pumping system with charging/control box with alarm, and 120 amp sealed maintenance free battery. Also included are 3 CleanPump stands, airtight lid with airtight floor drain, and WaterWatch alarm system. The team also installed IceGuard to prevent floods from frozen discharge line. To stabilize the walls, the team installed the PowerBrace wall stabilizing and straightening system. PowerBrace permanently stabilizes foundation walls. Because PowerBrace has a unique tightening feature, the condition of the wall may straightened over time.
