Water Intrusion Through Cracks in Basement Fixed in Eldridge, IA
Challenge
Bonnie and Edward are the homeowners of this leaky basement in Eldridge. Concerned with repeated water intrusion, the couple was referred to the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems. The homeowners explained that they were noticing water intrusion on the sides of the basement and coming in near the baseboards. The team sent a Design Specialist to inspect the basement and provide a free quote. The couple also received a discount on all services provided because MidAmerica Basement Systems offers a discount through Military Cost Cutters to veterans and active duty military. Edward and Bonnie were excited for the project.
Solution
The project was led by Primary Foreman, Mike Clementz. The team applied CleanSpace to the basement walls from the baseboards to the foundation floor. CleanSpace is a multiple layered plastic material making it strong and flexible, with an antimicrobial additive that resists mold growth. The team secures CleanSpace to the perimeter drainage system, WaterGuard. WaterGuard is installed on top of the foundation footing which prevents clogging. WaterGuard drains leaks to the local sump pump, or in this case the newly installed SuperSump with an UltraSump addition. SuperSump is an effective pump by itself with its air tight lid, airtight drain, perforated sump liner, cast iron zoeller pump but with the addition of the battery back-up pump UltraSump this basement is protected in the event of a power outage. Edward and Bonnie are happy to have a professionally waterproofed basement!
