Flooding Basement Resolves Issue with Waterproofing System in Sterling, IL

Challenge

Kate would always stress when it would rain. Water would seep into her basement, causing pooling water. And when it rained hard, water would even seep in through the foundation walls. Large cracking was an issue found on in her basement as well, indicating bowing walls, leaving her foundation unsafe.

Solution

Mac, design specialist from MidAmerica Basement Systems had offered a permanent solution for Kate’s basement issues. To address the leaking and pooling water situation, it was offered that CleanSpace, WaterGuard, SaniDry XP, and a TripleSafe sump be installed. CleanSpace was applied to all the walls to prevent water from flowing onto the floor, and WaterGuard was placed along the perimeter of the basement to collect the water that enters in from the wall cracks and floor. After water is collected in the WaterGuard, it is than directed to the TripleSafe to be properly discharged from the home, and to keep the basement dry. The SaniDry XP dehumidifier was installed to keep humidity levels down. To address the bowing wall situation, a PowerBrace system was installed. The PowerBrace is a patented I-Beam system that can be tightened over time, potentially straightening the wall back to its original position.
