Staircase Cracks Saved With Powerbrace Wall System In Washington, IL

Homeowner, Jason saw cracks on his basement wall one day. They were moving in a staircase motion and Jason knew the end results of the cracks were not going to be good. He wanted to stabilize the wall so no more cracks would begin to form. He contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems and Design Specialist, Troy was able to come out to Jason's home to look at the cracked wall. After going over different options for Jason, Troy thought that the Powerbrace System would be the best solution for the foundation wall.

The Powerbrace System is a permanent solution for the foundation walls. The system can be tightened as time goes on, allowing the wall to move back to its original state. It will also not allow the wall to bow in any further. The Zinc-plated steel beams are each custom-fit to the homeowner's basement walls. This is a great system to have installed if there is limited access to the exterior foundation walls.

With the help of MidAmerica Basement Systems, Jason can now go back to enjoying his basement without having to worry about the cracks in his foundation walls growing bigger in size. If you too have staircase cracks going down your foundation walls, please contact MidAmerica Basement Systems today. We would be pleased to help you.

Dave and Linda, Washington, IL homeowners, were surprised to find water coming into their basement through the walls. Full Perimeter WaterGuard in Washington, IL

Cory F. of Washington, IL was very happy with his waterproofing system from MidAmerica Basement Systems. He had a partial WaterGuard system installed along with a new sump pump and a few other items in 2015. However, the partial WaterGuard system kept the basement dry where it was installed to do so. On the other side of the basement, Cory realized his basement would only stay dry, and his home could only be healthy if he finished the system.

He called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems for another free estimate. Soon thereafter, he had the rest of the WaterGuard System installed, keeping his basement dry for many years to come. Cory is very happy to have peace of mind.

Crawl Space Made Clean and Dry in Washington, IL

Karen has a crawlspace that continues to have standing water in it when it rains. Tired of having to pump the water out every time she decided to look for a company to solve this problem. Through her search on the internet she found MidAmerica Basement Systems and decided to call and learn more.

Through her short time on the phone, she was very pleased and agreed to set up a free estimate with Kevin Coakley, a trained design specialist. After a thorough inspection of the crawlspace Kevin decided the best option for the area was to install a full perimeter of Smart Pipe drainage channel. This channel is buried under the dirt and directs the water to the SmartSump pumping system, which was also installed. The SmartSump is a small sump pump made just for crawlspaces because of the lack of space. The SmartSump will pump the water out of the house through a discharge line which will take the water a safe distance from the home. CleanSpace was also installed; this product is a tarp like material that encapsulates the entire crawlspace to help with the water problem and also give the space a much cleaner look when completed.

Karen loves the fact that she no longer has to pump water out of her crawlspace every time it rains. She is able to use her crawlspace to her convenience and could not be happier with the work done by MidAmerica Basement Systems.

1941 cape cod home. Has one sump pump and one floor drain. Floor drain backed up in 2014 due to a damaged sewer main, got a foot of water in basement from it. Drain functioned fine after that until this rain storm where I am getting 1-2" of water from it. Have recurring problem of water along other perimeter walls (water comes in crack between slab and footing). Usually can vacuum it up, but currently have two 1/3hp skimmer pumps and barely keeping up. Basement is partially finished, but considering removing drywall until water problem is resolved.

Bowing basement wall and cracks
Project Location: Washington, IL
Need a sump pump basement system. Had an issue where the buried discharge line froze, and the water backed into the house. I had to run a second discharge line, but I need something that is more automatic so that I do not have to manually switch between the two discharge lines. I currently have a primary electric pump, and a backup water powered pump. These two have worked well together, but they both discharge through the same line. So when the discharge froze, the water backed up into the house. Would like a redundant system with a redundant discharge line that would allow water to continue to be expelled in the even the primary line freezes. It has only happened once before as winters have been mild. But, this year we had extreme cold and then a quick melt. So the line froze, then we had a large amount of water. (Rain and snow melt.)
