Terry wanted his space to be cleared of debris and he wanted the space to be insulated. The MidAmerica Basement Systems team did all the above and more!
The crawl space before is cold, dark, uncomfortable, and layered with debris. The team cleaned the space by removing all of the debris and then they insulated the walls with SilverGlo. SilverGlo is a foil backed foam insulation that is infused with graphite. The SilverGlo is specially designed to keep heat from escaping the space, and outside air from entering making the space warm and saving the homeowner a bundle on utility bills.
We then installed drainage matting. The drainage matting has dimples allowing rising ground water to flow underneath the CleanSpace liner. The space is then fitted with CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace finishes the sealing process with a thick, durable, flexible plastic that has an antimicrobial additive making it mold resistant. All of the materials used are inorganic meaning that it is least likely to deteriorate and/or become a yummy meal for mold.
The homeowner now has a space that is clean, healthy, and comfortable while saving him money and headaches!

Room additions are great when you are looking to increase your home’s square footage, but down the road, issues can arise. Over the years, the ground under the addition starts to settle and shift, causing the addition to sink and slope from the rest of the home. MidAmerica Basement Systems offer a solution to your sinking addition. PolyLevel is a simple, effective lifting solution that fills the voids under your concrete slab to lift and level the addition back to its original position. The PolyLevel system uses small injection holes, roughly the size of a dime, that go unnoticed once job is complete. PolyLevel is the only “right” solution to lift and level concrete of all types.

Rock Island home-owners, Pat and Joe D., called on MidAmerica Basement Systems experts in 2010. Since then they have continued to call on the MidAmerica team for all of their basement needs. Recently, the homeowners decided to further secure their basement by installing CarbonAmor on the foundation walls. CarbonArmor's material is stronger than steel.
With the walls secure, the homeowners also chose to line their basement walls with the incredibly durable CleanSpace liner. Not only is CleanSpace liners resistant to tears and punctures but also has an anti-microbial additive that warns off mold and bacteria. The CleanSpace liner also brightened up the homeowner's basement and concealed the work that was done to their walls. Good as new!
MidAmerica is grateful to those repeat customers like Pat and Joe for their continued loyalty and trust!
The condition of this basement in Silvis was beginning to become a nuisance for these homeowners and so they decided to call on the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems. The team installed a TripleSafe sump pump system that comes with 3 pumps in one, one of the pumps is a battery powered back-up pump in case of a power outage, an alarm to alert the owner of any problems, an airtight lid and more.
The experts also installed a WaterGuard that will redirect any wall leaks to the TripleSafe sump pump. The foundation floor had large cracks which were created by hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure is essentially pressure that builds when the ground around and under the home absorb lots of water, such as during storms. This pressure builds and begins to push against the foundation floor/walls. Large cracks in the foundation can lead to more complications if not addressed by an expert. In order to alleviate the pressure, the MidAmerica team created laterals in the foundation, which provided relief from the hydrostatic pressure. Ultimately, redirecting the water from underneathe to the local TripleSafe sump pump.
Now this basement has a fighting chance against leaks and floods!
Marilyn in Milan was beyond frustrated with her basement. She lived on the property for 60 years and remembers water coming into her basement since the beginning. Unsure of what to do, and who to call Marilyn was referred to the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems. Michael Banks was the expert that went out to Marilyn's home and was able to inspect the property, gave her a quote the same day, all at no cost to her. Excited to finally have a dry reliable space, Marilyn gave the okay and soon the MidAmerica experts were hard at work.
Under the direction of lead foreman, Mike Clementz, the team installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump, a remarkable system that is equipped with a 3 in 1 pump. The 3rd pump is dual battery operated and serves as a back-up pump in the event of a power-outage. The 2nd pump switches on if the first pump can’t keep up, and the first pump does most of the work. TripleSafe Sump Pumps are powerful enough to pump 12,000 gallons of water out of the space. The pumps are elevated with a pump stand, to keep it clean and safe from debris. The lid is airtight which is designed to prevent clogging, and it also prevents water evaporating back into the basement causing more humidity. The TripleSafe Sump Pump comes with a special alarm system that alerts the owners immediately if a problem is detected, giving the owner's time to address the matter before it gets any worse.
The walls are waterproofed using the CleanSpace liner. A durable liner that is resistant to tears/punctures, it has an antimicrobial agent to fight mold, and its bright white color transforms the space dramatically. The liner serves as a vapor barrier that also drains water behind it to the WaterGuard system. The WaterGuard system is built 3/8 between the floor and wall that directs leaks to the local TripleSafe Sump Pump.
The team installed the TrenchDrain at the bottom of stairs leading to an outside entrace. The TrenchDrain is perfect for spaces that have an entranceway from the outside to the basement. The TrenchDrain drains the water that can come in through these openings.
Marilyn is ecstatic to have her basement back without worry. She can use the base for storage feeling confident that her belongings will be safe. The MidAmerican Team is thrilled to have another happy customer and healthy basement! MidAmerica is especially grateful for customer referrals for they are the best testaments to what MidAmerica has done for the Quad Cities and surrounding areas for the last 25 years.
The homeowner of this Milan Basement wanted to brighten their basement with natural light, but worried that the task may be a little daunting so they sought the advice of the MidAmerica Basement Systems team and they were able to send an expert out to their home and assess the possibilities. The team member explained that a StakWell Egress Window system could be exactly what the homeowners were looking for. The homeowners were quoted the same day and were excited to have MidAmerica start.
The new window system improved the appearance of the homeowners’ basement from the interior and exterior. The homeowners are excited to have a basement that is warmer and brighter. The StakWel Egress Window is designed to provide lots of sunshine, as the light bounces off the bright white color. It is designed to be energy efficient, durable, and reliable.
Mike is the owner of this smaller crawlspace in Moline and wanted to both insulate and encapsulate the space, so he called MidAmerica Basement Systems for a free estimate. Michael Banks was the expert sent to inspect the crawlspace and provided information on what products will best serve Mike's needs. With lead foreman, Mike Clementz leading the team, the project was underway. The team installed the SmartDrain which allows water to go drain but does not allow damp air to rise, minimizing humidity. The SmartDrain is also equipped with an alarm that will warn Mike if there are any problems. The SmartDrain is installed with the CleanSpace liner which acts as a vapor barrier and is also made with an antimicrobial additive that wards off mold and bacteria growth. The CleanSpace liner is durable enough to resist punctures and tears but is flexible enough to wrap around obstructions.
The team also installed the SaniDry Systems CX. The SaniDry is a dehumidifier and air filtration system in one high efficiency, high capacity unit. The SaniDry is also EnergyStar rated which means that it will save Mike money on his utility bills. Additionally, the SanidDry drains into the SmartDrain which means Mike will never have to go into the crawlspace and dump water out himself.
MidAmerica further encapsulated the space by sealing off the vents in the crawlspace. Vents in crawlspace tend to create a host of problems including but not limited to high humidity levels leading to mold, foul smells, an entry point for pests and more. By sealing off the vents and installing the EverLast access well, the crawlspace is protected from outside influences such as leaks, air flow, critters, debris etc.
Mike's small crawlspace created big problems for him but now thanks to the team at MidAmerica, Mike has a crawlspace that is dry, healthy, and is saving him a bundle on energy bills. MidAmerica is happy to have provided Mike with solutions to his crawlspace concerns!
Mike wanted to insulate and encapsulate his space and requested an estimate from MidAmerica Basement Systems. Michael Banks went out to inspect the space and provide Mike a plan and an estimate. Mike Clementz was the lead foreman for the job and though they had very limited space to work, they were able to give the homeowner, Mike, everything he asked for and needed. The team installed CleanSpace to seal Mike's crawl space from the exposed earth. They installed the SmartDrain which will drain leaks that may potentially occur. The Smart Drain comes with the WaterWatch, which will alert Mike of those potential leaks. The SaniDry was installed to keep humidity levels low, preventing mold growth and foul smells. The team further sealed the space from outside influences by sealing the vents with vent covers.
Mike's crawl space is healthier, dryer and much more comfortable.
Keith, the homeowner of this basement, decided to give MidAmerica Basement Systems a call when he discovered a lot of water coming in at the bottom of his block foundation. The team sent out Joe Sarb to inspect the foundation and within the same day, Joe was able to suggest a solution and the cost to address the issues to Keith. Justin Bailey was the lead foreman leading the team. The team replaced Keith's old sump pump with the patented TripleSafe sump pump. There were issues with Keith's old sump pumping system making it inadequate for the job intended. The most apparent difference between the two, is the old sump pump did not have a lid and the TripleSafe does. With the right lid, the TripleSafe is guarded from debris that may fall in and clog/disrupt the system. Also the TripleSafe lid is airtight, this allows water to go down into the drain but does not allow damp, musty, humid air from escaping. The lid for the TripleSafe is also equipped with the WaterWatch alarm system set to alert Keith of any issues. The TripleSafe also comes with 3 pumps in 1. The 3rd pump is the UltraSump, which is the battery back-up pump that activates when the power goes out.
The team installed the WaterGuard around the perimeter. WaterGuard is a specially-designed interior piping system. The big difference between WaterGuard and other traditional piping systems is that WaterGuard sits on top of the foundation footing, which is critical to avoid clogging leading to floods. WaterGuard also has a 3/8 gap to redirect wall leaks to the TripleSafe sump pump.
Terry is the homeowner of these TWO crawl spaces in East Moline and wanted them both cleaned up and insulated. Terry called the MidAmerica Basement Systems team and the team sent expert Mac McDaniel in to inspect the spaces. Terry agreed to the game plan and the team sent out lead foreman Justin Bailey to head the project.
The first crawl space is the larger of the two. The team cleared out all the debris and then laid out CleanSpace Drainage Matting. The drainage system is a dimpled polyethylene membrane material that allows water to flow underneath the CleanSpace liner. The team installed SilverGlo on the walls which is a foil backed foam insulating material. The SilverGlo is impregnated with graphite, which reduces heat from escaping the space. SilverGlo is inorganic making it unlikely to deteriorate. The space was sealed with CleanSpace liner wit is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that has multiple layers of plastics with differentiating flexibility making it resistant to tears and punctures. CleanSpace is an inorganic material that also has an antimicrobial additive called UnltraFresh which prevents mold growth on the liner. The second crawl space is smaller and was fitted with the CleanSpace liner as well. MidAmerica Basement Systems is happy to have provided Terry with two clean, comfortable, and insulated crawl spaces!
Alex J is the homeowner of the walkout basement in Milan and called the team at MidAMerica Basement Systems to send an expert to inspect the space. Alex noticed water coming in from two different areas and with a thorough inspection the expert, Joe Sarb, was able to identify the issues and provide Alex with solutions.
Lead by lead foreman, Bill Wilcox, the team installed the TripleSafe sump pump, CleanSpace and WaterGuard. TripleSafe sump pump is the idea sump pump for spaces taking in substantial water and is the system that keeps a basement dry all the time. This 3 in 1 unit comes equipped with features that make it superior to other systems, such as the UltraSump. The UltraSump is the 3rd pump in the system that is the unit battery back-up sump pump in case of a power outage and the WaterWatch alarm system that will alert Alex of rising water in the system.
WaterGuard was installed as the perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard sits on top of the foundation footing and is designed to direct wall leaks and rising ground water to the TripleSafe sump pump. CleanSpace was fitted to the basement walls to further waterproof the space. CleanSpace is a tear and puncture resistant 7 layer material that has an antimicrobial additive that fight mold growth. The team also installed IceGuard, which is a basement saver during those cold winter months. The IceGuard prevents floods from frozen pipes by ejecting water way from the foundation walls.
Alex now has a waterproofed walk out basement and no longer has to worry about further water damage!
The talented comedy troupe that performs in the same building as this older basement in Rock Island had concerns about the general condition of the space so the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems were called. The space needed a proper sump pump so the team installed the patented SuperSump. The SuperSump comes with a cast iron zoeller pump making it more reliable than other sump pumps. The SuperSump stands on top of a CleanPump stand to ensure that the system does not get corrupted by debris. The air tight lid also keeps the SuperSump debris free as it also prevents water vapor from rising out of the sump. SuperSump also comes with the WaterWatch designed to sound off when water is rising in the system, which could be the sign of a potential flood or other problem.
The team installed the perimeter drainage system, WaterGuard, to direct wall leaks to the SuperSump and off the foundation floor. The team also lined the old brick walls with CleanSpace liner to further waterproof the space and keep water vapor behind the 20 mil thick liner. CleanSpace also comes with an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh to help fight mold growth. MidAmerica is happy to have provided a safer space for the troupe and their audiences!
The owner of this property in Moline was concerned at the condition of the wall caving in front of their garage so they called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems for solutions. The team decided to installed the Helical Anchor System to stabilize the wall. What most likely compromised the integrity of the wall is commonly known as Hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure is pressure caused by water and gravity that create an immense amount of pressure against a structure.
Helical anchors are great for stabilizing walls. The team drills holes in the structure at certain points that will best stabilize structure. The Helical rod is mechanically rotated deep into the ground until the desired depth/resistance is met. Then the team installs the steel plates to the helical rod, securing the entire structure. There is the potential for further straightening with helical anchors. Before the wall was caving forward, creating a hazard. Now the wall is properly secured and safe. These helical tie backs will be monitored and torqued if necessary.

Dennis M. contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems because his Moline, IL basement was very damp. After every rainfall, the basement would pool water in one corner. The homeowner knew something had to be done, and he met with design specialist Mike Banks.
Mike conducted a thorough investigation of the basement, both inside and out, and showed Dennis where the water was coming in. Mike then custom designed a solution for Dennis's leaky basement issue. Mike recommended installing WaterGuard in the most problematic areas, along with CleanSapce Wall. The CleanSpace Wall protects the walls, allowing for water to drain into the sub-floor drainage system, and not into the interior. The water in the WaterGuard system then empties into the TripleSafe Sump Pump, which pumps the water out through the buried discharge line, or if it's frozen, out the IceGuard attachment piece. Dennis is very happy with his dry basement!
Mark, a Moline, IL homeowner, had his home waterproofed by MidAmerica Basement Systems previously. When he was having one of his annual services performed, service technician Gary noticed that Mark had a bowing wall in his basement. Gary suggested tha Mark have the bowing wall repaired before the problem got even worse. The solution was to have eight PowerBraces installed along the wall, which will stabilize the wall and potentially correct the bow overtime. Homeowner Tish E. was having issues with her sump pump system. During heavy rainfalls, she was still noticing water seeping thru her basement floor and walls, which was causing mold to grow and a musty smell throughout the home. She didn’t understand how this was happening when she had a sump pump.
MidAmerica Basement Systems was called in to assess the issue, and quickly found the root of the water and mold problems. The experts had to break the news to Tish that her sump pump tank was too small and couldn’t handle all the water that was coming in to the house. Not only was it too small, but all that water that the pump was discharging out of the home, was pumping right outside the foundation.
MidAmeria Basement Systems quickly got to work and installed a new TripleSafe Sump Pump and WaterGuard on the inside of the home to fixed the wet and mold issue. For the discharge issue, the crew installed IceGuard and a 20-foot discharge line with a LawnSpace finish. Now Tish could breathe safe and live happily knowing that her basement will no longer leak and grow mold.
Bob of Moline couldn’t understand why his electric bill was so high every month when his home was only 620 sq. ft. Upon research, he discovered that untreated crawl spaces have cooler temperatures which push up through the home, cooling the home, which causes the furnace to run more.
The experts at MidAmercia Basement Systems installed a spray foam to insulate the crawl space. Insulating the crawl space alone will not completely fix your problem, but will help a little. To make a significant difference in energy savings, the crawl space should be completely encapsulated. Completely isolating the crawl space from outside elements, the dirt floor and walls has CleanSpace installed over them. CleanSpace is a thick liner that won’t tear or puncture, allowing it to completely encapsulate the area – keeping to cold out, and the warm in. Now Bob can run his furnace without paying a fortune.
Jeff M. of Coal Valley has a sump pump in his basement to keep his basement from flooding. But he started noticing that when it rained heavily, water just wasn’t seeping in from the floor of the foundation. It would come in from the top of the foundation and run down along the wall, causing the floor to become wet. Jeff thought he was going to need to replace his sump pump with a whole new system.
Upon the inspection from MidAmerica Basement Systems, they assured him he didn’t need a new sump pump, but instead adding a few products to help with the leaking foundation. The crew installed CleanSpace and WaterGuard to help direct any water that would leak in to the sump pump. Now when it rains heavily, water doesn’t pool on the floor, but instead is properly directed to the sump pump.
Over the years, the ground around you home can settle. With settlement, it can cause many issues to your home. On issue is the pressure the ground has on your home’s foundation. This pressure can cause the foundation to bow and crack. This was an issue for Louis B. of Silvis. He had called MidAmerica Basement Systems to get his Free quote on how to repair his bowing foundation walls. It was suggested that he had PowerBraces installed in his basement. PowerBraces are a powerful I-Beam system that can potentially straighten foundation walls back to their original state. PowerBraces use a reinforcement method that distributes the weight of the home and ground evenly, so the home has less stress on it. Less stress on a home, makes for a safe home to live in.
Homeowner Paul C. was concerned about his home’s foundation. Cynthia thought that installing a sump pump in her basement would solve her water issue in her basement. It did help discharge water from her home, but it didn’t stop her floors from becoming wet when water seeped in the foundation cracks. FlowGuard was installed along the crack on the floor so water would enter the system and be directed to the sump pump, instead of surfacing to the floor. CleanSpace was then wrapped along the foundation wall to act as a moisture burrier to moisture while SaniDry Sedona was installed to pull the excess moisture out of the air. Water no longer collects on the surface of the basement floor, instead, it is properly discharged from the home without being noticed.
Betty had previously installed a sump pump in her basement. It was working fine until a big heavy rain came. The pump could not handle all the water it was receiving and had flooded, causing Betty’s basement to flood. She had called MidAmerica Basement Systems to have a new sump put in to replace her old one. Specialist had installed a new SuperSump, along with WaterGuard and CleanSpace. It was also proposed that she has her pump service every year, to help insure that her new SuperSump will last as long as the home.
