The sunken and cracked concrete around your Knox County home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. It is also likely to get worse, but we can fix it for you.
Our experts use PolyLevel, a superior polyurethane foam. Small holes are drilled in the concrete, the foam is injected and the expanding foam lifts the concrete. The majority of contractors you will call use mudjacking instead of foam. Mudjacking is heavier, require larger holes in the concrete and does not last as long as PolyLevel. After voicing their problem, an appointment was set up with Mac McDaniel to come out and evaluate their basement. Mac decided the best solution for their particular water problem was to have a TripleSafe pumping system, BrightWall, and a full perimeter of WaterGuard installed. The WaterGuard is a trenching system done in the home to channel the water to the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe is the best in the business when it comes to pumping all of the water up, out, and safely away from the home. The BrightWall is exactly what its name describes, a bright wall. It gives the basement a clean and finished look, while also blocking water from the wall down to the WaterGuard system to be pumped out by the TripleSafe.

Additionally, a drainage line is installed to keep the water out of the space, and away from the foundation.
Kendra B. of Galesburg, IL noticed water coming in through the foundation of her condo. She decided to give the local experts, MidAmerica Bassement Systems, a call. To waterproof the basement, Dan suggested top-of-the-line TripleSafe Sump Pump, equipped with three pumps and a back up battery, to work with the existing sump pump. Full perimeter sub-floor drainage system, WaterGuard, was also installed in the space, along with a buried discharge line, equipped with two IceGuard attachments, which allow for the water to exit even if the discharge pipe freezes.

Mike has a brick retaining wall that is connected to a main portion of the house, and due to the settling of the ground under the brick wall. CleanSpace Liner is a 20 mil thick liner, that is infused with antimicrobial additives to prevent mold growth. The thick liner seals off moisture from the exposed ground, leaving the crawlspace dry and strong to prevent tears and rips from appearing. Jim no longer has to worry about the structure of his home with a completely encapsulated crawlspace with CleanSpace Liner.
Phillip was wanting to sell his home, but with his bowing wall issue, he wouldn’t find any buyers for an unstable home. The material weighs less than 4 pounds per cubic foot, but has the strength to lift structures up to 4,000 pounds. With PolyLevel, Joe has a stable and leveled driveway that lets him park in his driveway.
Patsy and Marlyn spend a lot of time in their basement and were having concerns about Radon levels. After conducting a Radon test, they reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have a Radon Mitigation system installed. Foundation cracks were sealed off, making sure that when the mitigation system runs, it pulls the Radon properly out from under the home. If cracks are left unsealed, the Radon mitigation fan would be pulling clean, healthy air out of the home, and would let the Radon gas into the home. Once the mitigation system is properly in place, Radon levels significantly drop, allowing for the air quality in Patsy and Marlyn’s home to dramatically increase.
Mike was noticing small amounts of water entering the basement so he called the experts of MidAmerica Basement Systems. WaterGuard then redirects the water to a TripleSafe sump to be properly discharged out of the basement. To keep humidity levels under control, a SaniDry XP was installed. Rain, rain, go away! This is what a homeowner in Williamsfield, IL kept saying. Not only was it raining outside, but the rainwater was leaking into this homeowner's basement through the foundation walls and flooring. She contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems and a Design Specialist was able to give her the best recommendation, WaterGuard.

The system works with all different types of foundation. It is also designed with a removable cover that works as an inspection port or a continuous dehumidifier drain.

The last thing a homeowner needs is having their pipes freeze and have the water come back into their home from their discharge line from their sump pump! That was a worry that a homeowner in Williamsfield, IL had. A Design Specialist from MidAmerica Basement Systems was able to ensure this homeowner that with IceGuard you will not have to worry about having water come back into their home after it was pumped out.
IceGuard eliminates that worry of your discharge pipe freezing over. Since the sump pump discharge line is located outside it is best to have IceGuard installed over it. It still allows water to escape from the basement during the freezing cold temperatures outside. Without having it installed, you could find the water back into your basement even though your sump pump is still running. This is an easy solution to eliminate that issue from ever happening. It is designed with unique openings that allow water to flow out from the top if it ever happens to become blocked by rocks or other materials.
These homeowners have one less thing to worry about now thanks to the MidAmerica Basement Systems Team! If you too are looking to have your home waterproofed or would like to learn more about waterproofing, do not hesitate to reach out to MidAmerica Basement Systems. We would be more than happy to send a Design Specialist out to come to give you a free, no-obligation estimate. Contact us today!
