Barbara M. has had a water problem in her basement for a while and she was tired of dealing with it. She was referred by an employee to get a free estimate from MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Dan Garner, a system design specialist, at MidAmerica Basement Systems was sent to diagnose the water problem in the basement. Dan decided the best solution for the water problem was to have a TripleSafe and SuperSump pumping systems installed, along with a WaterGuard system around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is a drainage channel that will lead the water to either the TripleSafe or SuperSump pumping systems, where it will be pumped out away from the home. A SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed in the basement.
Barbara M. now has a dry basement and could not be happier. She no longer has the worry of going to sleep or leaving her home and wondering if the basement will be dry.
Vicki and Kermit, are the homeowners of this Geneseo basement. They wanted to secure the space from water damage and soon called on the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems. MidAmerica worked with the homeowners schedule and set an appointment for a free inspection. The expert, Mark Kurtz, came out and assessed the space, then quoted the homeowners the same day at no cost to them. Soon the MidAmerica team was hard at work providing these homeowners with a dry, waterproofed basement.
The team installed the SuperSump pumping system that is powerful, efficient and comes with an alarm system that alerts the homeowners of any issues. The homeowners also wanted a back-up system in case the power goes out, so MidAmerica installed the UltraSump, which is a dual battery switching unit that can pump upwards of 12,000 gallon in the event of a flood or major leak.
Lead by Justin Bailey, the team further waterproofed the space by equipping the WaterGuard waterproofing system, which leads leaks directly to SuperSump pump system. This basement owner has a basement prepared for rainy days and other unexpected leaks!
MidAmerica appreciates Vicki and Kermit’s business and is happy to have been of service!
This Kewanee homeowner wanted both his crawl space and basement waterproofed so he called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems.
For the crawl space, the MidAmerica Team fitted and sealed the space with CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick, seven ply material that encapsulates the space to reduce moisture and radon gases. CleanSpace has an antimicrobial additive that fights mold growth. The team also installed the SmartSump, a sump pump specifically designed for crawl spaces. Comes with an airtight lid that allows water to drain but prevents water vapor from coming back up into the space. Both the TripleSafe and SmartSump come with the WaterWatch Alarm System that is triggered to alert the homeowner of rising water in the space.
For the basement, the team installed WaterGuard drainage system. WaterGuard sits above the foundation footing and is specially designed to drain wall leaks away from the foundation floor and to the sump pump. The sump pump of choice for this homeowner was the ever efficient TripleSafe sump pump. This 3 in 1 sump pumping system comes equipped with an airtight lid, 2 cast iron zoeller pumps, and the UltraSump battery back-up pump in case of a power outage. The homeowner wanted the team to also intall the UltraSump Baterry Switcher, which will double the UltraSumps pumping time. The team also installed the SanidDry XP dehumidifying and air filtration unit to help keep the air clean and healthy. The team installed ThermalDry tile flooring on the basement floor. ThermalDry is the only all-inorganic plastic subflooring material that is specially made to resist water damage, water vapor and mold. The homeowner chose ThermalDry tile flooring in Sandstone which really uplifted the space.
The homeowner has two spaces that are dry, healthy, protected, clean and beautiful. MidAmerica is thrilled to have provided this homeowner with all of their basement and crawl space needs!

On the fourth wall, a PowerBrace system was installed due to many outside structures that prevented the installation of a GeoLock Wall Anchor System. PowerBraces still offer the same stabilization abilities as wall anchors, but are used in different situations. WaterGuard has special 3/8th inch flange that allows for water to flow into the system from the walls, without clogging the track with debris. Once in the WaterGuard, the water is then redirected to a TripleSafe to be properly discharged from the home. Mike also proposed that he install new basement windows to ensure the seals are tight, and to help prevent future leaking.

Homeowner, Bridgette noticed her wall started to have some cracks throughout and a slight lean to it. She knew it was not a big issue at the moment, but thought it may be best to have it checked out before further movement of the wall begins to happen. She thought it would be best to leave it to the experts to be able to figure out the best solution, MidAmerica Basement Systems. Design Specialist, Michael came out to do an inspection of the home and gave his best recommendation, CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System.
CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System is a great solution for when you would like to stabilize the wall from further movement inward. CarbonArmor will not stretch in, this means that the wall cannot bow in once the system is installed. This system is designed with Fiber-Reinforced Polymer. This means it is 10x stronger than steel and is designed specifically for basement walls. The fiber is also only 8th of an inch thick allowing the system to be an extremely low profile on the basement wall.
Bridgette is now able to enjoy her basement again and not have to worry about the wall starting to slowly bow in overtime. She can also paint over the CarbonArmor and not have to compromise any of her living space!
