Homeowner Mary has lived in her home for the last few years. She was interested in having her home evaluated after experiencing water in her home. She decided to seek professional advice with MidAmerica Basement Systems, we conducted a thorough inspection of the inside and outside of her home to educate her on the problem she was having in her home and how we could help fix that problem.  To address her water concerns she had a full perimeter waterproofing system installed in her home. The WaterGuard system that is installed around all of the exterior walls and will help move water from around the home to the sump pump. The new TripleSafe sump pump is equipped with three different pumps to make sure that home stays dry. Her basement also has a crawlspace which was fully encapsulated with CleanSpace. CloeanSpace is similar to a very thick pool liner and will create a barrier that will allow the moisture in the home to stay out. Encapsulating will also keep mold from growing. 

James and Carol were concerned about a bowing wall in their basement and called MidAmerica Basement Systems to have the wall looked at. During the inspection, Joe had begun talking about the issue with not only one, but three of the basement foundation walls. He suggested installing a Wall Anchor system for the bowing walls. The Wall Anchor is drilled through the wall’s foundation, and is anchored to GeoLocks located on the outside of the home, permanently stabilizing the foundation. The system allows for the walls to be tightened over time, allowing for the potential straightening of the walls. James and Carol no longer worry about their bowing wall issues.

Carol was having issues with cracks forming on her basement walls and it drew concern. When the experts of MidAmerica Basement Systems evaluated her situation, it was addressed that her walls were bowing. It was proposed that a GeoLock Wall Anchor system be installed to resolve the problem. Galvanized steel rods are drilled through the foundation and into the ground to be anchored for proper stabilizing support. Once the wall plate is placed over the rod, the Wall Anchors are tightened to exert the precise pressure on the wall. Due to the tightening system, it allows for the wall to potentially straighten over time, while stabilizing the rest of the home.
