Settling Interior Concrete Foundations is Lifted for Home in Oxford, IA
Challenge
Stacy’s home was built on a single story, slab foundation and due to the settling ground underneath, her home was beginning to show signs of settlement. Interior settlement cracks and gaps were becoming more and more noticeable along the ceiling and walls. Cracks in the floor tiles were beginning to form, and doors were functioning poorly. Some areas of the home had even settle as much as 2 ¾ inches. James Palagi, design specialist from MidAmerica Basement Systems introduced the solution of PolyLevel.
Solution
James Palagi, design specialist from MidAmerica Basement Systems introduced the solution of PolyLevel. PolyLevel PL400 uses polymers that react to lift and level sunken slabs, and is ideal for commercial and industrial applications with high loads (such as homes). It has the lifting strength of 2,000 to 4,000 pounds per square foot, allowing the home to be lifted without hassle. PolyLevel is injected into small poly-ports that are less than the size of a dime, making the processes a clean and effortless fix. During the process, polymers are first injected into the lowest portion of the sunken slab, producing a precise lift. PolyLevel helped regain door functionality, and significantly reduced and even closed some of the gaps. Areas of the home that had sunken almost 3 inches, became a mere 1/8th of an inch. Stacy’s home is now level and stable thanks to James, Richards and crew, from MidAmerica Basement Systems.
