Basement Waterproofing, CleanSpace, and Radon Mitigation Help Home in Davenport, IA
Challenge
Carol M. of Davenport had recently done a Radon test in her home to check her levels. Her test results came back with a high level of 10.6 pCi/L – the Environmental Protection Agency suggests that safer levels fall below 4.0 pCi/L. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, which means, the sooner it is dealt with, the safer your home will be.
Solution
The Crew members of MidAmerica Basement Systems had inspected Carol’s home to find the source of the seeping Radon. They found the source coming from her untreated crawl space, that was also damp and cold. They suggested that they do a total CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System with a SmartSump/Radon Mitigation combination system. The CleanSpace will allow sealing the earth off from the home from any Radon and dampness, while directing both issues to the SmartSump and Radon systems. Installing the SmartSump and Radon systems together allows for any water to be discharged, while creating a vacuumed sealed system that directs Radon out of the home. To insure no moisture was getting in the crawl space, Crew members also installed the SaniDry CX dehumidifier. Now that all systems working together, they provide a safe, healthy, and dry home for Carol to live in.
