Wet Peoria Basement is Made Dry with New Drainage System
Challenge
Karen D. of Peoria, IL owns a home that was afflicted by frequent water intrusion. When her basement flooded, she decided to take all the paneling down and replace the windows. However, when that didn't work, Karen knew she had to do something different, or her home would continue to be host to unwanted water. She decided to call the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Solution
Karen met with design specialist Dan Garner. Dan conducted a thorough investigation of the inside and outside of the home, before designing a solution for Karen's basement problem. Dan recommended that Karen have the basement waterproofed with a full perimeter sub-floor drainage system, a new sump pump, and a buried discharge line.
Foreman Mike Clementz and his team installed the patented sub-floor drainage system, WaterGuard. The team also installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The sump pump comes equipped with two poerful pumps, as well as a battery back up pump. Additionally, the team instaled IceGuard, which allows the water the sump pumps out to escape out over snow and ice. Additionally, the buried discharge line allows for water to safely exit away from the foundation. finally, they installed CleanSpace wall covering, which protects the interior from further water intrusion. The basement is now very dry, and Karen is happy!
