Partially Finished Basement in Waterloo, IA
Challenge
June E. of Waterloo, IA had carpeted her basement, but her block foundation was the back drop to her partially finished basement. June, who had already had work done by MidAmerica Basement Systems in the past, decided to make her home more energy efficient, and see what she could do to insulate her basement. She called MidAmerica Basement System to set up her free estimate.
Solution
Design specialist Mac McDaniel met with June in her Waterloo home. Mac and June discussed the basement possibilities, and came up with an inorganic solution that would insulate and protect June's basement. Mac recommended that the windows be replaced, and the walls covered. He also advised June to install a self-draining dehumidifier.
Foreman Mike Clementz and his team went to work installing the system. Mike installed 6 new EverLast Windows for June, and two SunHouse windows, too. BrightWall Paneling was installed in the portion of the basement that was unfinished. Basement to Beautiful steel-studded and thermal insulated panels were installed in the soon to be finished part of June's house. The EverLast Wall was installed in conjunction with the panels. All three options are inorganic, waterproof materials that are keeping June's place dry. The Basement to Beautiful Panels and the new windows are helping to cut energy costs, as well.
Finally, the Sani-Dry automatic-off, self-draining dehumidifier is controlling the humidity levels in the basement while also cutting back on energy costs. June loves her finished, beautiful basement!
