Moline, IL - 74 Year Old Home Damaged by Water Infiltration

Challenge

Steve C. was understandably put off by the flooding basement in his Moline rental property. With water coming in from all over, it was time to act. MidAmerica Basement Systems responded to Steve's call. A design specialist, Mac McDaniel came out to evaluate the 74 year old home and identify the problems and design solutions.

Solution

After Steve met with Mac, a solution was proposed to keep the encroaching water out of the basement. With water coming in from all angles, patented WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system was installed as a partial perimeter in the vast basement. Due to the size of the basement and the amount of water getting in, Mac McDaniel recommended two TripleSafe sump pumps. The TripleSafe sump pump has a powerful pump that keeps water out of the basement, and a second even more powerful pump that kicks on when there is more water than usual. Additionally, there is an alarm and back up battery. 

Foreman Justin Reger and his team were quick to come out to the property to install the two new TripleSafe sump pumps, as well as 151 feet of WaterGuard. After the WaterGuard was installed, CleanSpace vapor barrier, a moisture resistant wall covering, was installed around the perimeter of the basement to stop interior water damage. Additionally, Justin Reger and his team instated IceGuard, a product that prevents water from becoming clogged in the discharge lines even if the pipes are frozen. It pumps the water outside the house, above the snow and ice and away from the foundation.

Steve is very happy that his rental property is now dry!
