Basement Stabilized & Waterproofed in Colona, IL
Challenge
Gary and Shirley S., homeowners in Colona, were concerned about repeated water intrusion in their basement and the integrity of their foundation walls so they contacted the professionals at MidAmerica Basement Systems. The couple spoke to the Appointment Center Manager, Jennifer Abel, and expressed they were getting water in their basement and also had bowing walls that were concerning them. The team sent Design Specialist, Michael Banks, to provide Gary and Shirley with an extensive inspection and a free same day estimate. Michael designed a custom plan that would permanently stabilize and waterproof the homeowners’ basement.
Solution
The project was led by Foreman, Mike Clementz. The team stabilized the bowing foundation walls by installing the CarbonArmor system. CarbonArmor is stronger than concrete and ten times stronger than steel. The system is flexible, meaning that it can securely fit against the bowing wall. CarbonArmor is installed with a thick epoxy designed to penetrate deeply into the pours of the foundation walls. To waterproof the basement, the team installed a perimeter drainage system called WaterGuard. WaterGuard is designed to drain ground water seepage and wall leaks to the newly installed SuperSump pump system. SuperSump pump system includes cast iron pump, perforated liner, and airtight lid with airtight floor drain, CleanPump Stand, and WaterWatch alarm system. Gary and Shirley have a basement that is permanently stable and a lot dryer thanks to the professionals at MidAmerica Basement Systems.
