Basement with Severe Water Intrusion Waterproofed in McNabb, IL
Challenge
Jon and Mary are homeowners in McNabb. They noticed large cracks in their basement that were allowing for a substantial amount of water intrusion. Wanting their basement finally dry, they called the professionals at MidAmerica Basement Systems. The team sent Design Specialist, Mac, to inspect the residence and provide a same day quote at no cost to Jon and Mary. Solution
Lead foreman, Justin Bailey lead the project. The team had to relieve hydrostatic pressure against the foundation floor by constructing laterals. Laterals will drain rising ground to the local sump pump system. The team waterproofed the perimeter of the space by installing WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a patented system that is installed on top of the foundation footing to prevent clogging. To keep this basement dry all the time, the team installed a TripleSafe sump pump. TripleSafe pump system comes with twin liner, 1/3 hp cast iron primary AC pump, 1/2 hp cast iron AC back-up pump, and UltraSump battery back-up pumping system with charging/control box with alarm, and 120 amp sealed maintenance free battery. TripleSafe also includes 3 CleanPump stands, airtight lid with airtight floor drain, and WaterWatch alarm system.
